To celebrate Engineer's Week a Lego Workshop will take place on Wednesday 2nd March. Each class group will take part in a workshop with a qualified trainer. Skills covered will include design, measure, robotics, programming and problem solving. The cost of the workshops for 1st-6th class is €5 per child. Junior and Senior Infants will have a free play design session with Duplo bricks and cost is €2 per child.
World Book Day is happening on Thursday 3rd March. The children are encouraged to bring in their favourite book on this day to show to the class. They are also allowed to dress up as their favourite character or author or wear their own clothes.
To tie in with this, we have planned different reading activities in school. To start with we are going to run a school wide Readathon, from Monday 22nd February - Friday 29th March. Each child has been given a Reading Log to write down any books they read over this time and for how long they read. The aim of this is not to see who can read the most books, but to encourage all children to read.
