creative week
The children were very creative this week making kites, worry stones, positive affirmation stones and fairy friends.
Festival Day in Scoil San Nioclás
What a fantastic day we had today, celebrating Scoil San Nioclás' first ever music festival! There was a wonderful atmosphere as 48 acts took to the 'New Acts' stage to showcase their talents. We had a super range of performances- from singers to dancers, musicians to comedians, graphic designers, artists, break-dancing, magic tricks, riddles, football skills and skipping. This was accompanied by top class presenters and the creative committee did a wonderful job as stagehands, ensuring everything ran smoothly. The boys and girls in Scoil San Nioclás sure have talent!
We are so proud of our pupils and how they supported, cheered and encouraged each other. Well done everyone!
The afternoon was spent enjoying live traditional music provided by Stephen Leech, Paddy and Ms Flanagan. Well done to Annabelle, Feidhelm and Tera who also joined in for a few tunes. What a treat to have our very own concert in the sunshine. We ended the day with a disco in the yard where the children showed off their cool moves. What a brilliant day!
A massive thank you to Ms Hargadon and Ms Flanagan for organising the day, and to Mrs Walsh for providing music during the talent show.

check out the Scoil san nioclás bug hotel
Congratulations to the boys from third and fourth class who designed and constructed a five star hotel for the local creepy crawly community. These fantastic students gathered all the finest natural materials within their environment to create a comfortable winter vacation for these creatures. They collected moss, branches, pine cones, stones, bricks, straw and bark with the help of their mums, dads, brothers and sisters. Using recycled cable spools, they formed a tower and created a number of luxury rooms by dividing these areas using chicken wire. They finished this fine piece of architecture by decorating it with drawings of their desired clientele.
Feel free to stop by and check out all their hard work.

Totem poles and decorative stones
As part of the Creative Schools initiative, the students in 3rd and 4th class designed and painted some totem poles. The children from infants to 2nd class gathered large, flat stones from local beaches and decorated them. These marvellous pieces of art are proudly displayed at the front of our school and have added such a vibrant and colourful feel to the place. Thank you to all involved.
Local Artist Susan Farrelly visited our school as part of the Creative Schools initiative and showed the children of 5th and 6th class artwork containing lots of geometric shapes. The children got creative and designed their own patterns and shapes to paint on the planter boxes at the front of the school. They created the shapes using tape and then painted the insides lots of different colours. The children loved being creative and enjoyed the process immensely. They turned out so beautiful!
